On July 9, 2019, the comprehensive Department of the National Energy Administration issued the "Notice of the comprehensive Department of the National Energy Administration on Issuing the preparation (Revision) plan and English translation and publication plan of industrial standards in the energy field in 2019" (gnzts [2019] No. 58). Among them, the code for construction of floating surface photovoltaic power generation project and the operation and maintenance procedures of floating photovoltaic power station are led by China Three Gorges Renewables (Group) Co., Ltd. and edited by Share Power.

From October 12 to 13, 2021, the first draft review meeting of relevant standards was organized by the standardization management center of China Power Union. The participating experts agreed that the first draft of the standard passed the review. These two standards regulate the procedures and contents of the construction, operation and maintenance procedures of floating photovoltaic power station, improve the level of project construction and operation and maintenance, maximize the value of the whole life cycle of the project, and provide standards and basis for the construction, operation and maintenance of floating photovoltaic power station.
