The Huidong Runjia 70MW Agricultural Photovoltaic Complementary Power Generation Project has been fully connected to the grid and put into operation

Release time:2024-01-19     Number of views:110

In the core area of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, an innovative agricultural photovoltaic complementary power generation new energy project with full capacity grid connected power generation. This project is invested by China Three Gorges Group, developed, engineered, procured and constructed by SHAREPOWER Co., Ltd. SHAREPOWER is also responsible for the land reclamation and agricultural planting work after the completion of the project construction.

The Huidong Runjia project is positioned as a complementary agricultural and photovoltaic project. The project team focuses on the fields of high clearance brackets and complementary agricultural and photovoltaic technologies, fully considering the development needs of modern agriculture. They have pioneered a combination scheme of photovoltaic "flexible brackets + large space fixed brackets" to provide the space needed for planting crops under the foot board. To better meet the needs of agricultural planting, the fixed bracket and lower edge of the component in this project should have a height of no less than 3 meters above the ground (including a 16MW flexible bracket component with a height of no less than 4 meters and a span of 32 meters), which facilitates various agricultural machinery cultivation. Due to the higher ground clearance of the components, which is more conducive to ventilation and heat dissipation, as well as the gain on the back of the double-sided power generation components, the power generation of this project far exceeds the estimated power generation in the feasibility study. At the same time, photovoltaic modules and brackets are beneficial for shading the growth of vegetable plants and setting up agricultural greenhouse structures. The yield and economic income per mu of agricultural cultivation are also much higher than those of traditional agriculture. During the practical process, the project team continuously summarized, improved and innovated, and applied for multiple patents. Its unique "agricultural photovoltaic complementary" model not only fully utilizes land resources and improves land utilization efficiency, but also opens up new avenues for local agricultural development and increased income for farmers.

The project can produce approximately 95 million kilowatt hours of green electricity annually, which is equivalent to saving 29000 tons of standard coal and reducing 79000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. At present, the area of re cultivation has reached 800 acres, and more than 90 acres of soilless vegetables have been tested. A crop of vegetables is harvested every 25 days, and about 20 batches of about 30000 kilograms of pollution-free green vegetables have been produced and sold to the Greater Bay Area market. With the gradual expansion of vegetable planting scale, it can effectively solve the employment of about 200 local people and create good economic and social benefits.

The successful construction of this project has received high praise from the local government. The Provincial and Municipal Energy Bureau, County Government, Development and Reform Bureau, Jiulongfeng Tourism Area Management Committee, and others have come to conduct research on the project and plan to demonstrate and promote the agricultural photovoltaic complementary mode of the project.

The Huidong Runjia 70MW photovoltaic power generation project aims to achieve the goals of "strengthening rural collective economy" and "increasing farmers' income" through specific actions. The next step will continue to expand the experimental demonstration scale of "photovoltaic+soilless cultivation", expand the cultivation of fruits and vegetables such as strawberries, ginger, cucumbers, tomatoes, goji berries, etc., and summarize and extract replicable and sustainable new era agricultural photovoltaic complementary solutions.

The successful demonstration of the project marks an important achievement for SHAREPOWER in exploring the new energy agricultural photovoltaic composite project in the Greater Bay Area, and also provides useful reference and inspiration for the development of green energy. To contribute more efforts to help Guangdong Province achieve its "dual carbon" goals and achieve comprehensive green economic transformation.
